Meet Our Founder Dr. Selen Turner

Consultant - Speaker - Lecturer & Researcher - Author

Selen Turner, PhD is a practitioner-scholar who has spent over 20 years at the intersection of organizational science and executive leadership — building cultures, developing leaders, and designing the human conditions that make organizations thrive.

With senior roles at Mastercard, Carnival Cruise Line, and Cordis, and as a Partner at Advantage Performance Group, Selen has led culture transformation, talent strategy, and organizational development at the highest levels of global business.

That operating experience drove her back to research. Selen earned her PhD in Industrial/Organizational Psychology, where she studied the leadership inclusion behaviors that create cultures where people speak up, differ well, and contribute their boldest thinking. She brings that research into the classroom as faculty at Florida Atlantic University and Barry University, and into executive education at ZSchool and the Leadership Development Academy.

Why We Do What We Do

Most organizations treat culture as a value to declare. We treat it as a system to design.

The gap between what organizations say about culture and what people actually experience is where innovation dies — where talent walks out, where bold ideas go unspoken, and where AI investments underperform because the humans required to use them don't trust the environment enough to try.

The Turner Connection was built to close that gap. Through the Unique Belonging Framework™ — grounded in peer-reviewed I/O Psychology research and 20 years of Fortune 500 practice — we build cultures where people belong and are brave enough to be different. That combination is not a culture aspiration. It is the human engine of lasting innovation.
